If t_journeyman is around, I wonder if he would very kindly let us know what's happening with version 3 of WA2QCD, please? According to the website it's coming soon, but it has been saying that for months. Version 2 isn't bad, but it has some significant flaws which sometimes result in a converted skin being unusable. Many thanks.

Real life has been encroaching on my personal coding time. That and the impending (perhaps imminent?) new QCD version have contributed to the delay. I am hoping to hold off release until the next QCD version due to Paul's hints that there are some skinning changes.

That's most helpful, thanks very much.

Aha - Now we know who to lean on to get a new version out! Also, once the new version is out I won't have to check the forums every couple of hours in hopes that there's a new dev build.

Xy,

You are talking about dev builds of QCD, not the converter, right?

Yup, I was enjoying the fact that others were playing the waiting game too. Regardless of whether it's waiting for the new QCD so that you can finish a skin, or finish a program.

so you're finishing a skin? :D

Kind of, but I think I'm using the next release as more of an excuse than anything else! I've been coming up empty handed lately creatively, so I was hoping for some inspiration in the form of new skinning capabilities.

Also, (back on track), I'm interested in seeing what t_journeyman has in store for the new version of WA2QCD...

Excuses are awesome. I need to come up with some. That skin that some of you may know about... it's still being mapped.

Boy. QCD now has the power to have some awesome Winamp2QCD conversions. Resizeable playlists and the new text info (bitrate/samplerate)... Oooh.

Already trying to decipher the resize thing. Thanks to lich providing a skin with resize that I can take apart, I should be able to figure this out. After all, Winamp already built it into their skins.

Hmm... In all realiity, I don't know how possible it is to make a wianmp skin be horizontally resizeable.

If you don't understand how the resizing works, ask. I made GVB resizeable, so, I have a basic knowlege and so do Lich and Paul and Matt.

For those (like me) who find the new Winamp 5 Modern skin pleasing, and are frustrated that AOL has denied permission to port it, someone has just produced a Winamp 2 version of it. It isn't perfectly executed, but it's pretty decent, and in my view comes out pretty well when converted to a QCD skin using WA2QCD v.2. The only slight drawback is that it comes out with the name `Winamp' still on the top bar, but that can easily be edited out afterwards in a graphics program if it gives offence. I was going to post the URL for downloading the Winamp 2 skin here, but the forum software evidently can't cope with it, so if you're interested just go to the Winamp 2 skins pages and browse the `most recent' section.

That's strange, since I downloaded it only a short while ago. I'm attaching the skin to this post as a zip file; you'll need to rename it as a wsz file.
