Martin intends to ask Microsoft for an unconditional warranty that the operating system is free of bugs that could result in security vulnerabilities. This is such bulls**t! No firm developing software the scale of an OS can ever make a warrenty like that. It's the nature of software written in lowlevel languages written by humans... A lot of the security issues could (will?) be prevented writing software in managed languages etc. but the cost is major performance wise! Of course security issues is a major problem, but it is a rather new problem and programmers has to learn how to prevent those issues... Microsoft is using a lot of resources on making secure programs.

Yet another kook along the lines of Jesse Helms, pat Robertson and everyone's favorite, that guardian of technological good: Orrin Hatch.

Y'know, assasination is a valid tool of statecraft and CAN protect the gene pool...

You know Roj, I was thinking along the same lines myself, although I call it something different. I consider it a retroactive abortion. It's a more useful type of abortion though, as we know there will be a definite benefit from it!
