I was wondering, is there a Blogging Plugin for QCD???
I've looked through the Plugins Page, but I wasn't able to find one...
I was wondering if I overlooked something...

you wouldn't want a blog for every track, would you? how would this work?

I think that if you blog some statistics like tracks played, played time and so on rather than the current playing track would be nice.

I would not use myself but just a suggestion !;)

I'm talking about a plugin similar to the plugin used in Windows Media Player...
It includes, in smaller text just below each blog entry, what CD and what track you are listening to when you make your blog entry...

Sorry for not providing a link. It was hard to find, and I assumed most people already had known about this. Anyway, here's a link:

Oh, so it does like Xanga does? Only you don't have to go through the garbage of Xanga.

an example of xanga: http://www.xanga.com/ryansm1

Hmmm they (Microsoft) do provide a sample program to get the info from the Bloggar plugin, but not what needs to be supported to make your own bloggar plugin. At least I couldn't find it...

I know that their is a plugin like this for WMP, and one for Winamp Here (http://www.winamp.com/components3/detail.jhtml;$sessionid$1PDX4RGNDGPGJTN241HBCZI?co mponentId=132663)
So the competition supports this... ;)

So the competition supports this... ;)Damn!! I'll see what I can do... (Though my time is more than limited until next semester starts. :( )

BTW. you could try and write the author of the Winamp plugin and ask him to port it...

Tokelil

As far as I can see all this plugin does is write a few things in the Windows registry...

DeltaGuy
12-16-2003, 03:03 PM
You use the plugin with w.bloggar or another supported Blogging Tool...
The Plugin has been removed from the Winamp Website because Winamp 5 has been released by them and this plugin only supports Winamp 2 and 3...
I found the Plugin Author's Website, though:
http://www.minimalverbosity.com/2003/April/29/introducing_wmpamplog.htm
I'm going to try to contact him...
The Website has some Info that may help you:
Q. How exactly does WMPamplog work?
When you play a song, the plugin records the following information into the registry. "Title" - The title of the song. If not defined, then it will be set to the current file name. "DurationString" - The running time of this track in the format %02d:%02d (ie minutes:seconds, both padded to two digits). "Author" - The author the track, if defined. Otherwise this does not exist. "Album" - The album of the track, if defined. Otherwise this does not exist. When you stop playing, that information is deleted.

Puting info in the registry is apparently all it does...

Puting info in the registry is apparently all it does...It looks like it. Should be an easy plugin to write, (especially with the pdk from the microsoft website) so if he doesn't want to I'll give it a go later this week.

Thank-you!!!
I don't think that he will make it, he only wanted to make the plugin for WinAmp3, and wouldn't even make it for WinAmp2 until people stated to harass him. I doubt he'll want to make it for us, the competition...
Once again, Thanks! Yet another reason to use QCD...

What do you use to update your blog?
You need to use one of the clients and one of the hosting providers or solutions listed on the Microsoft Website for the plugin to work...
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/windowsmediaplayer/downloads/create.asp
I recommend the w.bloggar program, http://wbloggar.com/
Its nice freeware, like QCD, and just released a new version...

I've honestly just been using blogger.com... :)

Does w.bloggar require you to put a logo in your blog?

I have attached a beta BLog plugin. Just unzip and put it in your QCD/plugins directory and enable it under general plugins and tell me if it works. :) I havent tested it in any BLogger clients my self!

Don't feel bad, that's what I use, with my own host, of course...
I hate ads...
BTW, it does not require a logo or any form of advertisment at all...
It is freeware, and will not alter you blog for its use at all...
Although there is one logo available if you wish to display it...

I've created a blog to test it in: http://qcdtest.blogspot.com/
I'm testing using w.bloggar 3.03 and QCD 4.1

Supports clipboard integration, just press a hotkey to paste all possible song information to any application. This plugin is automatic though, and creates a link to info about the artist...

Yeah, I kinda figured that out when I started using it and it didn't alter my blog. (yay... :))

I saw another user who had a w.bloggar logo in his blog, so, I was like... ew.

I also use my own host. (It's right on my website) Not having ads is definately nice.

you have to use w.bloggar. something like http://www.wbloggar.com

In w.bloggar, there are music notes at the bottom. click. hit auto insert on top/bottom of page. then format... then post/publish.

If you want w.bloggar to do it automatically, then:
On the toolbar, click on File Choose Settings Click on the "Media" tab Click on "Automatic Insert" This way, w.bloggar will automatically insert the info into your blog...
You can choose to have it on the top of your message or at the bottom...

You must have an older version of w.bloggar. In 3.03 or whatevr the latest is... there are music notes on the bottom and you can click on them. Then you select ewither Auto insert on top or auto insert on bottom.

No, I'm running 3.03...
I've just never noticed the Music Notes Before...
Basically, what I said does the same thing as clicking on the Music Notes...
I just never realized it...
