Canada...
Where Else?
I'll guess that from those options I'm from Eastern Europe. Don't feel very propriate to answer that, though. Northern Europe would be the one.

Central America is part of North America...
From Greenland to Panama is North America...
Then Columbia to Chile and Argentinia is South America...
As for the Eastern and Western Europe, I think he's refering to old political boundries used in the Cold War. Western Europe would be the former Democratic part of Europe, and Eastern Europe would be the USSR's former communist section. Using that method, then Scandinavia is Western...

Mexico is definately North America. And, according to Delta Guy, Central America is considered N. America as well.

(in alphabetical order)
England and Ireland... they are just... yeah... on there island :p
Central Europe : Austria, Lichtenstein, Switzerland
Eastern Europe : Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Moldau, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, White Russia, Yugoslavia
North Europe : Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden
South Europe : Albania, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Malta, San Marino, Vatican
Western Europe : Andorra, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain

I'm not saying that You don't have right, but have a look on time zone. Poland have GMT +1:00 hour and this is Central Europe Time, the Eastern Europe Time is GMT +2:00 hour. Even in Windows Regional Settings polish language is in Central Europe Languages :D In my Geography Book I read that Poland belong to Central Europe. I find some websites confirming that, also I find few, saying that the Poland is in Eastern Europe. We can argue about this, but it will be silly :)
Regards
sorry for my bad grammar

well...
between "Central Europe Time Zone" and "geographical Location" is a difference ;)
and we do want the geographical Location
the capitals of Italy(Rome)[South Europe],
the Netherlands(Amsterdam)[West-Europe]
and the Capital of Algeria(Algier)[North-Africa] are in the same TimeZone...
but not the same Location... so Algeria is not in Central-Europe :p
have a look here ---> WorldTimeZone.com (http://www.worldtimezone.com/index12.html)

IN AUSTRIA ARE NO KANGAROOS !!! :o :p
funny story: One time in Austria I farmer called some animal sanctuary/rsacp and told them that a deer was going crazy in his yard and was hopping around. The animal guys come over and see that its a Kangaroo that escaped from the zoo, so....kangaroos could be in austria.
-swt-
01-05-2004, 09:09 PM
sry... but in austrian Zoo's are no Kangaroos ;)
Austria has only one big Zoo, that one is in Vienna(near my flat ;))
and is called "Tiergarten Schönbrunn"(AnimalPark/Zoo Schönbrunn -> http://www.zoovienna.at/)
of course, there are Elephants, Giraffs, Ox', Wolves, Pinguins,
Icebears, Pandas (since March 2003 i think) and some other of coures, but no Kangaroos :o

-swt-
01-06-2004, 01:03 AM
well... okay...
just checked the story, and its true...
but that was in 1998(29.October - 3.November) in Salzburg, a Province of Austria.
the Kangaroo escaped from the Zoo and was hopping around.
Through the City Salzburg(Capital of the Province Salzburg. well... yeah... its the same name ;). Austrian's are creative :D), near a Highway and some other Locations.
Ah... by the way : the name of the Kangaroo was "Skippy"
and i think its still in the zoo... but its no big kangaroo... its a bennet-kangaroo...
it is about the size of a medium dog.
well... so i have to revise my Statement, that there are no Kangaroos in Austria...
there is ONE ! Kangaroo in Austria :D

Don't worry about it, man. We Scots get a bit sensitive about these things. Talking about weather, my wife were in Austria in 1990 and as far as I remember it pissed down for the entire time. We went to Vienna, Salzburg & Halstatt. Halstatt is a beautiful place. If I ever win the lottery I might get a place there. Heaven.

Hey all, just here to put in the government mandated canadian content (stupid canadian government). But hey, the canadian government has one thing going for it: its not the american government! ;)
Anyway, I noticed an ongoing theme on this thread seemed to be regionalized food, and seeing as theres not really truly canadian cuisine (with the possible exception of poutine... a delightful french canadian invention of french fries covered with cheese curd and gravy.... mmmmm fat-a-licious) I'm going to suggest prairie oysters.... not exactly a widely appreciated food, or widely known, but about the only food thats distinctly prairies. That being said, living in cowtown, we're awash in beef, some of the best beef in the world! Yay canada!!!
p.s.: if anyone is unsure as to the meaning of prairie oyster.... consider yourself lucky.

And you crazy Americans, I can't believe one of the most popular tourist destination in Southland New Zealand for American visitors is a stupid road sign - the one that says "Gore" one way and "Clinton" another.

I was sad to find out that a lot of that movie was fiction. I went on a tour of the highlands a few months back and stopped in Stirling along the way. Saw this funny statue and learned quite a bit about William. Most of that movie was 'dramatic effect'. (I still loved it)
Scotland was an AWESOME place though, I stayed in Edinburgh for about a week and a half.. just fantastic. Its kind of funny because I met a guy named Rory there... great guy.
I also learned a lot about the english (from a scots perpective)... it wasn't pretty :)
Calgary... ...home of the Cowboy and the Prairie Oysters...I lived there for 15 years after I came to Canada and my parents still live there. I visit them as often as I can which almost amounts to every year (I'll be back in town again in August for Dad's 83rd).
I love that city - big time.

Hey, hey, hey, I never said anything about cowboys.... and believe you me, calgary is far from rural.... in fact, due to the way the city is zoned, its the largest (area-wise) city in north america (mexico not being included in that statement, seeing as mexico city dwarfs us), the population is about a million, and we're the high-tech capital of canada (I know, not much, but beating both Toronto and Vancouver is quite the feat).
That being said, there are still cowboys, and people seem to revel in the "redneck" ideal around here.... not sure why....
Calgary is the high tech captial of Canada?
Assmongrel
01-21-2004, 12:31 AM
Per capita, it has the most computers, most connected to the internet, most broadband, etc. not to mention the many high tech firms that call calgary home... sure, toronto has more, but thats because toronto has a bigger population.... I suppose the case could be made either way, but I'd say my point is still valid
