View Full Version : Audio Match ?
Audiomatch.net provides a plug-in for Winamp that allows visitors to see what songs you've been listening to in your Winamp. AM also provides an image that you may put on your website or forum signature that updates everytime you listen to a song! You may also create an inline page in AOL Instant Messenger that will let people see what you're listening to from within AIM.

The question is....
Is anything like this available for QCD? ...and if not will this company ever create a plugin for QCD!?
Note: QCD AudioTracker 1.1.0.109 is FULL of users, so for now I'm S.O.L.
I guess nobody is interested in this sort of thing, only me...

I had a look at the project when you first posted but since www.audioscrobbler.com is very close to be active again I have to say Im going to support that instead. (The old plugin might work. Im not sure about that yet though, since it only displays current playing song at the moment, but that might be due to that not all their services is running yet. They should be by tomorrow.) Besides one of the things I think is cool about audioscrobbler is the ability to compare peoples music taste so you can get some inspiration. I have no use of generation of images based on what music I hear.
Besides that it seems like the folks behind audiomatch doesn't want to support other players. At least they have no info about protocol and so on, so it is impossible (or difficult because you have to analyse the trafic the winamp plugin sends) to write a plugin to QCD. And free regs are suspended so I cant try it out. (Besides I'd have to install Winamp to try it... eik! ;) )
There is another project out there that does the same as audioscrobbler and audiomatch which is a little farther ahead in the development and where a QCD plugin should be in the works. I cant remember the name right now, but someone asked for a plugin for it some time ago in this forum.
Yeah, but as far as I know AudioScrobbler doesn't support image based output files that you can embed into your website or forum signatures telling the world exactly what you are listening to or the "last track you listened to". As far as I could tell AudioScrobbler just tracks what you listens to and compiles it on their website, or am I overlooking something on their website?

Yeah, but as far as I know AudioScrobbler doesn't support image based output files No you are right it doesn't. (Dont know if it is planed at some stage in development) And personally I dont care about that, so...
The big idea behind audioscrobbler is to be able to compare your listening patern with others that have the same taste. If thats not what you are looking for then audioscrobbler is no good I guess. Hmm I definitly think I read about a project like audioscrobbler and audiomatch, with upcomming support for QCD and imagebased output but I cant remember the name of that project and my search turned up no good.
Is this the correct path plugins should be installed to:
C:\Program Files\QCD 3\Plugins\Quintessential Player
or would it be this:
C:\Program Files\QCD 3\Plugins\
The reason I ask is someone is working on a plugin and they need to know where it should be stored.
Plugins should be installed to the path defined in this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Quinnware\Quintessenti al Player
By default, the path is: <program files>\Quintessential Player\Plugins

If he uses the QCD Plug-in Installer from the Devzone to make an exe file it'll install to the correct directory.
