i cut this off the audioscrobbler website:
Development has resumed. Submissions are being tested with a small group of people for now. We'll be fully operational again by Monday 8th (basic stats, plugin downloads, account creation, song submissions).
they have a link to the qcd plugin, albeit the old crashy one. hopefully we'll all be back in action soon, eh? :D

I thought they had change the protocol so updated plugins was needed... I guess not.
Nice to see some action. Finally!

A few things i think the scrobbler plugin really needs:
* the ability to disregard (and NOT submit) files that:
a) havent delivered at least artist and title fields properly to qcd
b) are video files, which probably have nothing to do with scrobbling
* more support of new audioscrobbler website features. surely they wont support old plugins forever, and ressurecting support was (imho) somewhat of a fluke and a surprise.

I agree... Hopefully canard_bleu will get the time to take a look at it. I have 2 other plugins that Id like to look at, but on the other hand is audioscrobbler the only plugin I use my self.

He's registered but never posted. If you want anything done, you should email him.

another cut from the as website:
Submission System
Posted by on the 29 of December 2003 at 10:57 pm
I've just finished coding a brand new submission system which is now online. Unfortunately, you'll need a new plugin to use it, and the only plugin available right at the moment is the one for Foobar2000, which I was using to test the new system (you can get it from the download section). New plugins for other players should appear over the next few days. Russ
so i guess this is the end of as for qcd? sigh.

Not sure I want to start scrobbling seriously again anyway, most of my submissions have been lost and my stats are whacked. According to the QCDScrobbler plugin I've submitted 48,000+ tracks, according to the AudioScrobbler site it's 2,000+
It seems to have kept 1 song per artist as my artist totals equal the total of the one track left for that artist. 'If' a new plugin comes around I may see if I can reset my stats and start again otherwise it's pointless. I mean 16 submissions for AC/DC, a band that I have every album of along with loads of live stuff, they've gone from way out at the top of my list to the bottom. </rant> ;)
Ah well, wait and see what happens I suppose :)

Someone will make a plugin for it eventually Im sure. Personally I haven't got the time before february... :( (Unless one of the other plugins for another player is easy to port...)
TheTribe: If you logon to their IRC channel and explains your problem Im sure they'll reset your accound for you!

the AS dude admitted that things went awry at some point, and he's looking at fixing it... anyway, it wouldnt be so bad to just get a new account. i noticed the same problems, and they are annoying.
that said, i enjoy using the site so im gonna stick with it... if i can (if someone makes a plugin!) :D

Someone in the IRC channel had the same problem, he wanted to reset his account, and one of the developers told him that a feature for that will be made and they'd prefer if he didn't make a new account.
I like the project too and the developers behind it seems cool so I'll going to stick with the project. It needs a little time but I think it'll be great in a few months. :)
