Development on QCD is continuously occuring between releases. To allow users to see the work in progress and to get testing feedback I like to release 'development builds' of QCD.
I try to make development builds as stable as possible, but they are fresh code and have a good chance of containing new bugs. It is recommended not to use development builds as your main version of QCD, and to install it to a separate folder from the release version.
