I Just switched from winamp 3 to Quintessential player and so far I have been very impressed with it except for one thing. With winamp you could get a Plugin called RM-X General Purpose Control that allowed you to use the Creative remote that comes with the Audigy 2 to do just about everything. It would be awsome if you could make a plugin like that for the Quintessential player.

Indeed that would be a real cool feature.

muwhaha i use my phone to control! muwhahaha!!
Girder had support for QCD (http://www.girder.nl/index.php) but it fell out of date. Maybe there is an update on the site?

The author of Zoom Player seems to have figured this one out quite well. He includes a file w/ the player that describes which Windows messages to define to get it going. Maybe something to look into.

I don't use Girder but IRAssistant. I wanted to control QCD using the remote that came with Pinnacle TV Tuner card. I use the "Send Message" function in IRAssistant to do it. Girder probably has a similar function. This ain't as easy as a plugin, but it works.
To send message to a particular window it asks for 3 parameters - Message Number, WParam and LParam. For the most basic functions, here are the values of WParam that work.
Play - 41008
Pause - 41007
Stop - 41006
Previous Track - 41002
Next Track - 41001
For all these functions the value of "Message Number" is 273 and that of LParam is 0.
I have posted the exact same message in some other thread about remote control. I use QCD development build 75 and the "Previous Track" function doesn't always work, even when I click using mouse. Maybe a bug.
