Any webdesigners/web graphics people on the boards?
I'm pondering and can't seem to find a direct answer.
I make logo's for message boards and web sites but my latest request is for a board I think is really quite smooth.
It's understated and quite elegant.
Anyway, point is... I'm wanting to make a nice logo banner for this site.
How do I make it the right size to fit the screen so it does not distort whilst taking into account that people have diferent resoloutions etc.
I'm not sure what size to start at this time.

When I am designing for different resolutions, I try to incorporate design elements that scale well. For example, using blocks of color or textures that can scale easily.
In addition, I try to stay away from making one large banner graphic for any site. You can generally achieve a similar result by breaking out the different elements of the banner (logo, buttons, etc) into different graphic files.
Hope this helps.

The trick is to find areas the still looks good stretched and have that/those areas stretch.
