Trouble playing files

I just downloaded the QCD and when I Try to play any mp3 file i get a message saying "Another application is playing audio" I have QCD set as my default player and I've unchecked all audio files in windows media player.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Try this: go into Preferences->Plugins->Input, select the CD audio plugin and click Configure. Click the 'Advanced - Standard' tab and uncheck 'sample input from soundcard for visualizations'.
