While using the QMP beta with all the GraceNote "stuff", what kind of data is being reported to GraceNote?

I turned off all the "music ID" stuff (I already know what my music is, and if I do need something tagged easily, I can use Tag & Rename to automatically download the track list, album art, review, etc. from Amazon and apply it).

Is there any other interaction with GraceNote occuring if the music ID stuff is disabled and I don't click on the "Browser" button?

I wondered the same thing. If Gracenote is THE database of choice then ok...But when I have a song that is captured off a streaming or a live cut from "whatever", Gracenote can't help me with that...so what is it's purpose? Not a rant...just a wondering?

Bah.. Gracenote changed the language in some song and artist names.. I disabled updating in options but the song names they gave me are still here.. where can I delete this data?
I deleted that Gracenote directory in My Documents but that didn't help.

EDIT: nwm, deleting the whole QMP dir in My Documents did help. :calm:

Go to Media Library -> Rescan Media Library with MusicID disabled

You can also revert any files by right-clicking on the selection in the ML and choosing 'Reload File Tag Information'.

While using the QMP beta with all the GraceNote "stuff", what kind of data is being reported to GraceNote?Since I haven't seen an official reply to this, I did some snooping and determined that any time you play a track that has been "identified", QMP connects to 'cddb.glb.gracenote.com' (on port 80, the standard HTTP port) and submits information about the song you are listening to. The data appears to be compressed (possibly encrypted?) so I wasn't able to discern exactly what gets sent in my quick snoop.

It is important to note that MusicID is enabled by default, and is continuously identifying all of your audio tracks in the background while QMP is running.

Even if you disable the MusicID Auto Identification "feature", this information is still sent each time an already-identified file is played. To stop this, it appears you need to disable MusicID, and then choose "Media Library -> Rescan Media Library".
