Just a few things I've found whilst I've been playing
#1. Could the LAME encoder have an option for the presets i.e alt-preset--standard etc
#2. If I search my music in the media library for a song and I've found the song i was looking for i'd like to be able to just delete what I wrote in the search bar and have the whole music list presented to me again. Just like how Winamp does it. -Added.
#3. When adding a folder to the media library could you add an option to not add subfolders (or vica versa).
#4. As on the MP3 encoder could you add an option to the ogg encoder to use a different encoder.
Cheers.

Seconded.
It's a little irritating otherwise.
Um, and just a general note on threads (ie, not specifically to you, Matty!)
Can we try and have some sort of threads about specific things? I know with a new build out people want to just post about all the things they think of, but if everyone creates a "things off the top of my head" thread, we might as well not have individual threads - I'll end up wanting to comment on the ML for example and either just appending it to whichever thread I find first, or creating a new thread for it when it might already be under discussion in Niggles3.

I understand what you are saying, however at this point I doubt very much that anybody is being too selective about what they read, choosing to read EVERYTHING that is posted about this new development release.
I think we are all of like mind to be able to sort out what goes where with what.
We're excited...we are full of enthusiasm...we just want to post!

Another thing I've come across is that QMP doesn't remember the Fields I have selected in the Media Library. It always reverts to Track Name, Artist, Album, Genre, Year, My Rating etc etc. I've also just experienced QMP loosing all the things i've added to the library. I was using, closed it, restarted it fine, now i've logged off and back on again its all dissappeared. I'll see if it does it again, might just be a fluke. - Seems to be fixed :paranoid:
The Tree View/Folder View etc still reverts back to default settings whenever I restart the player. Doesn't remember column widths, which columns I have enabled etc.

no1. I just had it crash whilst tagging. Gave me the winxp crash report thing, then after I pressed close I got this error (pic #1). It seems to do that kind of error after it crashes as I've had it before on my other machine, can't remember what I was doing when it crashed (pic #2)

Found a bug. If always on-top is enabled you cant use the drop down menu to change from say, tree menu to file system menu in the media library - the menu doesn't appear. -Fixed

Minor niggle: Nothing happens when I double click on a file in the playlist.

Another bug (i think). Remember a while back there was that problem when double clicking things in explorer caused the file to "double play" is the best way to describe it, it would start - then a mini-second later start again. That turned out to be related to "automatically play files added to empty playlist" check box. It seems to be back, but i've only noticed it while double clicking things in the media library and it seems to stop when i disable that check box.
Something else I've noticed is also when double clicking on things in the library it starts playing then there is a slight pause and it carries on. Doesn't do it all the time and increasing the buffer (to above 7500ms) seems to cure it. Don't know why thats happenening.

Works ok here.

QMP also seems to freeze (well the media library does) when I edit some of the fields for a track from within the library. Sometimes It'll be ok then I'll edit another and bam, CPU usage shoots up to 50-60% and the programe slows up. It continues to play and everything except the media libraray continues to funcition (be it very slowly).

I've had this problem \/ 3 or so times now while doing absolutely nothing with qmp except streaming music. I hope someone can figure out how to reproduce it

the funny thing is that the music would just keep on playing if i stopped myself from pressing that 'OK' button. :silly:

The error with the OK button only seems to come up on mine after i've clicked "close" on the WinXP error dialogue box.

Funny how all the bug reporting just quiet down after a surge of posts for not nearly a week. I guess now we're all waiting again ;)

Yeah, I can imagine the amount of stuff he has to wade through already. I don't envy him. It's no wonder he has to take some time to sort through it all. For a while there I had trouble keeping up with all the new posts, I can imagine what it must be like for him! We can't expect immediate answers from him all the time you know! :cross-eye

Why not crate a Command Line encoder (like my CLI encoder--but I think Paul can create a better one) so we can use various encoders?

A bit of a one for all GUI to the encoder. It'd still have to support a fair amount of options and so on, whilst being easy to use.
