Alright first off, the new build is looking rather nice ;)
But yes now the questions and bugs:
1. Whats the deal with the replaygain plugin, does it read values from tags present in the files?
2. When can we get ape tag support back? Cos thats where all me tags have been saved too (apart from id3v1 tags for legacy, but replaygain is held in ape tags)
3. Why is quicktrack still so slow in showing up when alot of files are in the playlist? Isn't it gathering the info from the db now? Or does the db have to be loaded first?
4. Whilst we're talking bout the db, could ya tell us exactly how much file info is stored there, and how much of the loading of playlist data occurs from the db?
5. possible bug here. I edit the tag to a song thats in the playlist, commit changes, but the playlist entry does not change to indicate these changes.
6. Theres getting to be rather a few EQ options at the moment. Is there still an eq in the mp3 plugin and another in the directsound plugin, with the shibatch dsp eq being a seperate eq again?
K thats all i've got at the moment, but I'm sure there'll be more shortly ;)

Oh and yes before anyone asks, yes I have installed the APE input plugin again...
Oh and yeah using qmp has awakened me once again to this little annoyance... The playlist not adhering to window's mouse wheel scroll this many lines value... :P
Oh *3 A request for the replaygain scanner, two preamp sliders, one for files with replaygain data present, another for files without replaygain data.
Heheh alright nother request for the replaygain scanner, how about an option to 'Scan entries as multiple albums'. That way ya just need to select a playlist worth of songs from different, and select this option, instead of having to select each album seperately.
And how about a right click menu option in the playlist to bring up the replaygain scanner?
Alright and another feature request hehe.
In the library, could the rescan media library option be made to search in a specific folder watch folder style, and only update file info that has changed, and not use gracenote services (well an option to use or not to use them would be nice).

Heres another small bug, when you double click files in the media library to add them to the playlist, playback starts, then a small blip occurs, then playback continues. Using the directsound crossfader, with around 5seconds of buffer.
#EDIT# Alright, the fault here lies at the door of the shibatch eq, hadn't read what ya had to say bout its latency etc before writing this ;)
And once again a feature request. When you do a search in the media library, when selecting a resulting song, is there any way to select the corresponding artist and album trees in the tree view?

Hmm alright I added all the files on my computer to the media library, and viewing the actual files in the right hand pane play times are shown for all of them. But the time column in tree view is showing 0:00 on all tree's except for [All] and [Not identified], which look to be showing the correct total time.
Also, is the [Not Identified] tree to do with the gracenote services? Because its showing every single file in my library, yet all of them seem to be sorted fine under other tree's.

Hmm alright...
Hedge...just dropped by to see what you're up to...wanna go see a movie or something?
Oh...sorry...didn't realize you had your own little private thread going on over here.
Don't let me disturb you any more than you obviously already are.

Hmm, I'm seeing the 0:00's now too. That's new, not sure how it cropped up on the day of release. Oh well.
(not identified) is the set of files yet to run through MusicID. It's there to know what files MusicID failed to ID, or has yet to ID.
1. The ReplayGain plugin reads from the file's tags.
2. I will update the APE plugin as soon as I can. Although I'm suprised it doesn't work in QMP as it did in QCD, but I haven't tried it yet.
3. QT and Playlist loading get data from the DB, but time is still calc'd on the fly (because for QCD/MP knowing the seconds is not good enough).
4. Everything is retrieved from the db, except for duration. This may change once I focus on it.
5. Will have to check this.
6. Yes, it's a little bit of a mess. The DSP one is the only one enabled on install. The Input and Playback EQ's will probably go away once Shibatch has it's kinks worked out. However, there are advantages to the others (the playback plugin eq has no latency).

Alright heres a feature request for both the library and the playlist.
The ability to add custom columns with user defined tags to the library, and custom tags to the playlist.
Have a new column option on the menu which allows you to add other columns to the library, and in a new window allow for the tag field's name to be entered, like for instance %PLAY_COUNT%, and a name for the column.
In the playlist allow for user defined tags to be entered into the template.

Yes, yes, and yes. I'm waiting patiently for native APEv2 tag support for MP3's, and ReplayGain from those tags. :)
By the way, can we get a rundown of how ReplayGain tags are being stored? If you haven't already seen it, here's a list of how foobar stores ReplayGain tags for various formats (http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=ReplayGain#foobar2000_replaygain_s canner). Personally, I say just go the same route as foobar, no reason to create another standard for something like this.
I noticed that you apparently can't seperate preferences for id3v1 & v2 anymore? Like hedge said, I'd rather just keep id3v1 for legacy, APEv2 for everything else, and skip id3v2 alltogether.
One other odd thing I noticed: AAC is listed as a format for ID3, even though there's no AAC plugin? I didn't even realize you could put an ID3 tag on an AAC file, I thought it had its own tag format.
EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to say, ditto on hedge's request for scanning options, like right-click and scan as multiple albums.

I was getting lot's of '00:00's until I wiped the library and re-added my collection. Now no problems, so it seems to be a little intermittent.
Bug!
To reproduce:
1. disable any plugin,
2. exit QMP
3. start QMP again and see what disabled plugin is lost from Preferences at all!

Got all the subcategories showing 00:00 again. I crashed qmp (can't reproduce the crash so it's useless to report that), and when I restarted qmp, everything was 00:00.
