Procol Harum - Whiter Shade of Pale
Tokens- Lion Sleeps Tonight! The second version produced in '71 (the one in Lion King). It's good for the movie, but I would never request it on the radio.

WAY before the movie came out... Every week I'd hear a Guy request it on the oldies radio station. I'd think what kind of guy would actually call in to request this sissy song?
When , Beatles - Stones – Temptations – Buddy Holly – Chuck Berry - Ventures – Elvis – Perkins - and Darin, Could be heard!

Will people never learn the difference between art and technique? Whitney, Celine et.al. certainly know how to use the physical gifts they were born with but they have absolutely no clue how to use it artisically.

Look at Mick Jagger. He has no where near the physical voice of most singers yet he's a much better singer than many more talented physically. It's all a question of art rather than mere physical ability.

OK - I finally have one. I heard it on the radio ercently and just went EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dirty Laundry - Lisa Marie Presley

FoulandFilthandFoulandFilthandFoulandFilth!!!!!! (insert appropriate invective here)

It's worse than that recent cover of INXS' "I Need You Tonight".

Would that be a cover of that old Don Henley song?

It's worse than that recent cover of INXS' "I Need You Tonight".

Being a huge INXS fan, got to hunt this down and listen to it.

To keep this on topic, "Tarzan and Jane" by one of those cookie-cutter Euro-trash groups was pretty dire.

I've seen Vince Neil do the chicken dance in a video clip! Surreal.

I can honestly say I missed that one.I haven't heard that remake, but just imagining it makes me twitchy, maybe because I'm a fan of INXS as well. I'm wondering if it can be as bad as Britney Spears' "remake" of Satisfaction. I put remake in quotes because in order to remake a song, you first have to be capable of making music, and Spears ain't even close.

Somewhere I posted to you that I am 90% convinced that the song you are looking for is in fact the song that is on the flip side of the record label in your original post.

As far as I'm concerned there are only two good reasons to pay any attention to her at all. (Insert pig snort here)

You know I've been considering this ever since you first posted and had trouble coming up with one. That said I think I'd have to pick three:

Killing Me Softly - Roberta Flack
You're So Vain - Carly Simon
Signs - Can't remember the original artist's name.

For some reason I can't explain these songs drive me crazy whenever I hear them. I don't hate the artists, just the songs.

Wow...'Killing Me Softly'...least favorite song? LEAST favorite song? LEAST like in LEAST.

So what you are saying is songs like 'Disco Duck', 'Dreams of the Everyday Housewive', 'I'm Henry the Eighth', 'Tip Toe Through the Tulips', 'Pac Man Fever', 'Convoy', 'Who Let the Dogs Out', 'Rockin' Robin', 'Jam Up Jelly Tight', 'You Can't Rollerskate in a Buffalo Herd", 'Last Word In Lonesome Is Me', 'Where Have All The Average People Gone?', 'Tomorrow Night In Baltimore', 'My Uncle Used to Love Me but She Died', 'Salute To a Switchblade', 'Me and Jesus', 'I Like Beer', 'Will I Ever Be Happy Being Lonesome', 'Me and My Fiddle',...I could go on but I won't...what you are saying is, if I understand you correctly, what you are saying is that ALL of these songs, ALL OF THESE SONGS, are BETTER than 'Killing Me Softly'?

Interesting.

You know acushla, oddly enough, I knew that, if anyone was going to pounce on me for that statement, it was going to be you.

To be sure the songs that I recognize in your list are annoying, but they don't grate on me the way the ones I listed do. It's not the music in those songs, it's the lyrics I find annoying. I'm NOT saying any of those songs listed are any better. Are you out of your mind?!

Amen brother! They should be executed for even doing it!;)wow, that would nearly decimate the entire record industry... that would releave us from a lot of problems :) and it would save a few back for those who actually make music instead of the noise that is coming through the speakers of the radio. :)

by the way, today I watched a part of our annual TMF Awards (much the same like the MTV Awards, incidentally both the dutch TMF and the dutch version of MTV are owned by the large MTV coorporation, and boy do they suck, and sadly this year the only alternative music channel (The Box) was also vaccuumed up by MTV), anyway.. I watched the TMF Awards, and it nearly made my eyes bleed... so much commercial junk.. yuck!
