Now we all know the MAD decoder is currently the best decoder for MP3's but the only plugins available for QCD and Winamp are based upon old MAD code. I have been looking for a player that actually uses the MAD decoder but the only clients I can find, apart from Coolplayer, are Linux based. I assume this is down to the fact that any program using the MAD decoder needs to make it's source code available and the Linux community are more open to open source.

But anyway does anybody know of any Windows players that use it?

If they keep the maker of MAD keeps his interface the same for the plug-ins then it shouldn't take long for plug-ins for playerrs to change to newer versions... So my guess is that open source isn't really the problem, but for some reason the developers has abandoned their projects. :(
