The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is a Comedy Central creation which purports to be the 'Fake' news...however there are a legion of viewers who consider it to be about as honest a news cast that has ever been presented on TV. I always tell people to watch one episode...after that your on your own.

The Daily Show is honest in that it manages to capture the tenor of the times better than any other current affairs program on the air right now. They are frequently the only people bold enough to point out that the emperor has no clothes.

For those that haven't seen the program, it starts with Jon Stewart reading off the days news. This is often the funniest part of the program; Jon can kill here with just a look or quick one-liner. From there you go th "field reports." Here "reporters" report from world-wide locations standing in front of obvious blue-screen camera tricks. They may also conduct "interviews" where the subjects are just slightly "out-there" and willing to be gently mocked in return for some TV exposure. Then the show goes to in-studio interviews. These can be with real news-worthy people like John Kerry, Bill Clinton, Bob Dole, etc. These guests all have to have a sense of humor about themselves as the questions they face will often come out of the blue. The show closes with its "moment of zen" which is a short video clip of some sort of political idiocy.

It's worth a look.

I could not have described it any better than that...and in fact didn't! Kudos to you jkrzok, perfectly done. I hope people who haven't seen it will be encouraged to search it out.
