I've been working on this for a while, I know its really simple and pretty bad.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I can add either graphically or functionally?
I'm thinking of making a mini mode that is just the head of the guitar zoomed in a little more.

Please leave criticism (preferably the constructive type).

Yes, this would be cool, (if you already hadn't thought of it!) to put the "progression slide bar" on the neck nearist the base (on the pick-ups). Then out on the neck would be the equallizer, then futher out the visuals (like graphical peakmeter). Or verse-visa. But to have the slider bar where you have it is cool too!
The playlist however, would need to be somewhere else. Like maybe a Amp connected to the guitar! A Marshal, or something. Or maybe external "visuals" could be on the amp, and the internal visuals on the neck as I said (good option).{ the REZ WHEEL visual plugin would look cool there }.The volume will be - the volume's normal location on the guitar I take it? And the other options can be gotten to through the other knobs and :evolved: swithes. Max and Min nearest the tuning knobs? Make sure to have a encoder button to get to the CD stuff easily. And "ADD" button too!
Rock - on!~

sounds pretty good, I actually did think of the amp playlist, but i didn't get around to it yet.
I know that the picture has been shrunk, but on my computer (resolution 1024x768), i don't think I could fit all those things on the neck. plus, i got this picture online, and the resolution isn't too good. It was hard to find though, a picture without a case or something. I think this is the biggest there was, so I don't think I'd be able to get the equalizer.

maybe on the strings over the base, I'll put some visualization that fits in well. but since im new to skinning, that might take me a while.
I'll try to get the mini mode and the amp going.

If someone can find me a similar guitar that has really big dimensions, can you give me a link? I'll redo everything and then I might add the equalizer on the neck.

Edit: For the volume knob - i thought about it, but its too small. also, the other knobs are minimize and close.

After looking through my pictures, I found the original of this guitar. It looks about 10x clearer than the finished skin. Somewhere in the editing, this lost its detail. I'm going to try to go back and redo it, maybe it will come out clearer. If so, I could do some of those things.
I also found a nice looking amp.

Well, after a long wait, I've decided to create this skin. I no longer have the 'excuse' that it is too blurry, because I have now made an identical guitar using GIMP.
I'll do what Balty said he wants. If anyone else wants to contribute ideas as to the placement of controls or graphics, etc., please do, and I may consider adding more modes for them.

I'd like to see Paul McCartney's bass.

that would be pretty cool looking.

id be fine making a series, but it might take me a long time to put it all together, since no matter how many 'first skins' i say im making, i never finished one. The one u see in the picture on the top is the "old" version, using a picture i got from google. It was too blurry to work well with, so i trashed the project. now, i decided to draw a copy for myself with full detail.

I'll take suggestions, but keep in mind that I'll need a full size picture to either use directly or to copy. Also, what do you think about the placement of buttons and displays on the skin?

I like that project. There is a little real-object based skins for QCD (apart from caraudio based skins), and this one is really nice one.
As mentioned before - the playlist could be inside an amplifier box.
I also like general arrangment of buttons.
Keep up good work:)
