Basically, I have a CD-R of MP3 files, and I was just wanting to put the disc in my CD-ROM drive and load the root directory into the playlist. When I try to do this with QCD (latest version, 4.11), the drive spins up but there is no other activity. I let it sit for a few minutes, but nothing happened. In fact, the whole program froze up and I had to kill it with the Task Manager. And I had to repeatedly punch the eject button to get the tray to eject the CD-R. I tried this in both drives (40x CD-ROM and 32x10x40 CD Writer) on my system and I get the exact same result. Is this just not something that QCD is designed to do right now?

Celeron 300a
128 MB RAM
Windows 98 first edition with all applicable upgrades

ADDENDUM: I can load a file at a time, I just can't read the entire root directory into the playlist (there are no subdirectories on the CD-R).

i think you should upgrade your PC... its a bit slow :o ... v e r y s l o w

i've tried about 10 CD-R's with MP3's, with my Pioneer-DVD-Drive and my CD-Burner..
no problems...
turned shuffle mode on... no problems... all working fine...

Can you enqueue multiple files from Windows Explorer that are on your hard drive? Some Windows systems can't do this which must be a bug in Windows.

You can try to add the files from the CD via the QCD context menu and also by adding the files in batch from QCD itself.

Also you can try drag&drop the files to see if that helps.

And you should try to upgrade the memory too ! ;)
