View Full Version : Timer plugin - feature requests
I have 2 requests regarding Timer plugin:
1. possibility of switching into 24-hour mode. This AM/PM is really weird for cyrillic me. What are they - AbsurdMorgue and PervertMonster?:) I have to calculate each time...
2. adding name for each created Timer. Instead of "Timer 1, Timer 2" I want to see "To work wake up", "Weekend", etc. Please-please-please!:)

I think there's a small bug with this plugin too... You can't enter a time until 'New Timer' is clicked.

I've noticed that little annoyance for some time now too. I hadn't reported it because I thought it'd be fixed in the next version, which I had assumed would be released before now.

Am I the only on that want the Timer plugin to shutdown my computer? (Or does it shutdown for you guys? Mine just shutdown QCD...)

I haven't really used that feature so I don't know.
QueueIt v0.9 has been performing flawlessly by the way. :D I've been using it lots!
Are you going to release it properly soon?

Are you going to release it properly soon?I uploaded v1.0 a couple of hours ago and I can see it is in the plugins download section now:
http://beta.quinnware.com/list_plugins.php?plugin=71
Not much has changed since v0.9 besides a help dialog.
Im glad you like it!! :) It has been fun to develop!

No, you're not the only one. I'd like it to have the option of shutting down the system, but until it does, I just set Shutdown Pro (a freeware program) to shut down Windows one minute after whatever time I've set in QCD timer.

Yer Im using the shutdown program that is build into Win XP to shutdown my computer. Funny thing is that I believe some early version of the Timer plugin supported system shutdown.
Good suggestions Lich. I've posted Timer plugin 2.10 which includes your ideas. Bug fixed also.

I like the new features on Timer v.2, but found another mini-bug.... I have two timers set up, to prompt to shut down QCD at different times. Whenever I switch tabs to configure the other timer, the check box for "Clear prompt" resets on the first timer.
Just thought I'd bring this up...

Well, I also really want a plugin that can shutdown my computer after the currently playing song, or when the entire playlist is finished.
Is that hard to do?
I think it's far to complicated to calculate how long my playlist is in second, then set Windows "shutdown" command to that value.
The perfect solution would be something like right clicking on the stop-button and choose "Shutdown computer after song/playlist" with a confirmation dialogue (Yes/No).

It's great. All I want is a countdown timer option! And the timer system tray icon could have a right-click function that opens a menu of a list of times to select from. An instant-countdown type of thing.

I'm reviving this thread because either I can't find this feature or it hasn't been implemented yet if possible. I like that the plugin is able to shut down my computer after a set time, but I find it much more useful to just tell it to shut down after the playlist is finished instead of calculating the playlist time in hours/minutes. If this can be done, I would be very pleased.

not sure why this isn't an option
set timer to play multiple files aka a folder not just current playlist or single file
if i want to wake up to something i didn't go to sleep to, like napalm death not enigma
i have to make a playlist (which i HATE doing) so it's one file.
if i've missed the boat entirely do let me know... :pirate:

interesting. Why do you hate making a playlist?
I myself just make a playlist and have it play in the morning. Sometimes it's a grabbag of tracks, sometimes its a few select albums. And now and again I change playlists (its been awhile now though).

r.e timer add FOLDER
Todd The Kiwi

is there any chance of this being an option?
seems to make sense, add folder via timer.
i can choose a folder of music to play not just a single file i.e playlist.

The Timer plugin source code was released. I will gladly include someone's updates to it, but updating it myself is far down on my list of todo's right now.

Well, as Paul stated here (http://quinnware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=56449&postcount=33), it is far down on his list of priorities at the moment. And as the source code has been released for it, it will most likely require someone to pick it up and run with it.
For the forseeable future, I would suggest that you would be better served in investing in a good alarm clock.

Would it be possible for each timer to have it's own volume setting? The volume at which I fall asleep to isn't loud enough to wake me up in the morning.
