 Hi folks, I need help. I'm relatively new to computers and find I'm learning every day. When I first got my 'puter I immediately started putting all my CD's onto my hard drive. Unfortunately, to do this I used WiMP 9.0. After having finally ditched WiMP, Inw realise I have over 4000 tunes in .wma format. Damn. I've read that .ogg files have potentially superior sound quality and being a bit of an audiophile I would like to use this ogg in the future. I know I won't increase the sound quality (G.I.G.O.) but for continuity I would like to convert my .wma files to .ogg. I know, pain in the arse. :( . How do I do this? Can I convert large folders at one time or would I need to convert each track individually. Any help gratefully received :)

Do not ever try. Converting from lossy to lossy format is the best way to kill sound quality. Leave them (WMA) intact, or if you can - re-rip and re-encode CDs into Ogg.

Actually, I was thinking along those lines myself. When you use the term "lossy format", is there an alternative? On a lighter note(sic), can I suggest you try listening to "Little Death Orchestra". Stunning! :D
