Ideally I would like to have an online radio station that plays various music in segments.
I tried searching but nothing came to me that I could clearly understand

so i figured it may not be possible, then the next step is to stream my playlist but I wasnt sure what is needed/best

You want to stream or broadcast a playlist? For the latter i dont think there is a possibility for it with qcd. To stream a playlist you downloaded, just double-click on it and qcd will start playing it as long as you have an mp3 plugin and a playback plugin selected which you, no doubt, have. As far as i know you have to manually switch online radio stations, ie playlists. Alternatively you could set a timer for certain playlists to commence playing though, just check the preferences of qcd.

As far as I know this DSP plug-in for winamp should work:

You can also use Oddcast (http://oddsock.org/)'s WA2 DSP plugin in conjunction with IceCast or Peercast to broadcast streams with QCD.

Is it possible to stream music that will originally only stream via a flash player? See here: http://www.slamfm.nl/index.php?pid=119 How do i get the playlist for this thing? I tried using the address: /external_includes/slamfmlivestream2.php or http://slamfm.nl/external_includes/slamfmlivestream2 to no avail. (See properties of button that says "Klik hier voor de flash player" = Click here for the flashplayer. Aint Dutch easy to learn ;)) Have you guys got any ideas?

That's cool mate, but im not trying to broadcast. I'm trying to stream music that can only be done, it seems, via this flash player applet thingy. I was hoping there would be a way to extract the playlist address from this thing so i can put it into qcd. I hate to leave a browser window open just to listen to my favourite radio station. ;)

Come to think of it, I should have put this in another thread. Pointless to make a new thread now though.

if you are streaming you are broadcasting... ;)
But you want to listen to the webstream of SlamFM...
Too bad, I can't find out what url the flash player tries to open :(

Now im totally confused :puzzled: If i stream music, then i 'download' continuously mp3 parts which are played in qcd. When i broadcast i upload parts to others in the world so they can listen to my music (given that i have enough upload bandwidth, which i do not). In fact, i will have turned my computer into a server. That's what i understand under streaming and broadcasting.

if you stream, you upload/broadcast ;) ...
in your case SlamFM streams their radiostation and you listen to its webstream. ;)
At least, that is what I have been taught to understand... :)

Ah right I must of missed your post I was looking at the first one. Can't you download the flash appelet and open it up in flash MX and see what stream is embedded? -edit, well that didn't really work! all i know now is that the stream is called "stream01" and is on port 8000 as helpful as that is.

you can open http://www.slamfm.nl/external_includes/directestream.swf in media player classic.

Since JetCast suddenly stopped to work I'm now testing other alternatives to broadcast music throught the web (to a couple of friends in my case).
I'm trying to tune up ODDCAST + ICECAST, but seems that the DSP version of ODDCAST v2 and v3 don't show up as plugin on QCD.

Is there some step I'm missing to make it work with QCD?
