Hi folks. I'm a bit of a minimalist (at least, so the wife says ;) I think the "runt" mode is best, but it got me thinking that it would be nice to have a player which sat at the bottom of the screen just like a window status bar, with all options popping up from here. I know nothing about skinning and maybe this isn't possible. Maybe the width would be the limiting factor. Just an idea.

Is this what you are looking for?

I think he's looking for something more like the taskbar itself, rather than something that sits in the tray. I like the idea, really. The main thing QCD would need is something that tells Windows that maximized windows 'stop' at a certain positon, rather than overlapping QCD or going behind it. I've seen several apps do this, instant messaging clients in particular. I doubt it would be terribly dificult to implement. After that it would just be up to skinners to make skins that have multiple widths for different resolutions. The skin Tubular in mode 3 is already well on its way to this, with its multiple width extensions. Then maybe add an autohide when docked option, ooooooohhh.....

Rorythedog, if you like the default skin's runt mode, I highly reccomend you try the skin Tubular in mode 3 if you haven't already. Just grab it from QCD's built-in skin browser/downloader.

Skins like Prizm fit above title bar quite nice.

I still think the "Tray Controls" is what he want. It's not only in the tray, it also creates a windows toolbar where you can place whereever you want, just like any toolbar.

Hi there. Tubular 3 is almost there, you're right Toe. One reason for wanting this is that I have a rather large monitor in a very small appartment. It's therefore possible to lie back on the couch and chill to some tunes and visuals. I use a cordless mouse to this end. With this in mind, It would be nice if someone took Tubular and 1 - lengthened it to 1280 x1024. 2 - removed some of the less important buttons i.e. eq, shuffle, vis, eject. 3 - enlarge the main transport controls. 4 - colour it in XP blue. 5 - make the playlist slide up from the base rather than it jacking the base up on top of it. :o There, not a lot to ask, is it? Thanks to everybody for taking an interest.

Actually, you can already do this. Just drag the playlist and dock it to the top of the main area instead of the bottom.

4 - colour it in XP blue.
No offense man, but I'd much rather it stay as it is than be converted to that gawdawful "Fisher Price XP" look. :p

"Fisher Price XP Look" <- LOL !!! :D

Well I guess he wants that color to make it suit his desktop.

Actually Toe, you could bre right. I've never particularly liked the kiddy kolors myself but I don't much care for silver (too plain) or Camoflage Green (Army Men) either. Maybe Windowblinds is the way to go? Also, I don't know about any of you, but I find that when I'm trying to drag the mode 3 versions there is rarely enough free space on the player to accurately grab it from a distance. A clear space would be nice for this. Anyway, I hope everybody's doing fine. :)

Get StyleXP (well, the freeware uxtheme.dll patch) from the site.... I forgot the link. There should be a link to it from www.themexp.org
