Ok .. It's been a week, and I can no longer stand it! With all the different forums we have here, what would we post in QCD FAQ? (sorry, but older minds just HAVE to know)

Nobody would post except for Paul and Matt. When a F.A.Q. comes up, they will put it in that forum and answer it.

At least, that's how I see it.

yup it's going to work just like twig says. It's also a place for Drewkeller to place his ever growing FAQ.

i posted the FAQ in there as an announcement. it's not a regular post, so i guess that's why it says 0 posts when you're looking at the main forums page. but there is something there.

i was originally picturing each question as a separate post but this way works too. i didn't have an option to make a regular post in there either.

So was I. If it isn't an admin should just make it a link.

Drew, does the QCD Faq forum still not let you post threads?

Paul, a suggestion,if I may. Could you edit the FAQ forum to state it's read only, and then give yourself,Matt, admin AND drew access to posting to this section?

not that i can see. when i go into the moderator control panel, the only option i can find is Add Announcement. when i try to create a new thread from the forum page, it says i don't have permission to post. where else should i look?

I dont mean to be rude, but why did you make them all seperate threads?

Chicubs beat me to it. I mean it just doesn't look esthetically pleasing to my eye. The origional article has all the questions, so why should each one be listed separately. Kinda redundant (redundant). ;)

having a whole forum for one announcement doesn't really make sense to me. if that's what the intention was, why not keep it on a web page where it would be the most aesthetically la la la etc... apparently the forum is they way we are going

i had considered combining the questions into a few different posts as different topics. but i think that is too much organization and would actually make things harder to find. maybe if there were like 150 questions... but there aren't.

having separate posts is kind of nice for a few reasons that i hadn't thought about before.
-- instead of showing 0 posts on the front page, it shows x posts relating to x number of questions.
-- each post shows number of viewings - we can see which topics are more popular

There is a FAQ system on this board and it gives a good layout. But moderators can't manage it (ie: Drew), only admins can (a feature vB is missing). So if this method of FAQ gets cumbersome, we may have to take it over and use the built in FAQ system.
