AH! Winamp 5!

So my brother and I downloaded it to see what it was like... A few things about it:

1. Slow.
2. No system messages... tooltips take a while and I'm impatient, so, I never know what is going to happen.
3. So many color schemes, so few good color schemes.
4. No right click mode select... Wow I missed this when I was stuck in a mini mode.
5. Stupid extra tray icon thingy... I double clicked it after Winamp froze...

So, yes. Winamp froze.

WinAMP3 and WinAMP5 have both crashed my system three times...

Yeah, Winamp froze like 6 times. Then my brother got rid of it. :)

Bother what? I downloaded it because I wanted to see what it was like. I double clicked the icon because I thought another instance of Winamp was running. I wanted it gone. :D

Hmm, I havent had it crash once on me yet. I dont use it, but you have to admit that its a hell of alot better than winamp 3.

Yep, same here, zero crashes, and remember winamp 5 is still in BETA... bugs are still being ironed out.
Still, something annoys me about 5, it seems like they've tried to get all the best plugins for winamp 2.x and integrate them (sometimes badly) into the core.
I do like the library, i like being able to use the old w3 skins, i like the library, even though the stupid auto tag detection thing absolutely SUCKS... oh and did i mention i like the library.:)

Amen, brother! I never bothered going past WA3, since the damned thing kept getting loopy on me (just played the same 2 seconds over and over and over...). Tried foobar; it was OK at first, then I upgraded it and had the same loop problem. Now I have found QCD and audio Nirvana. Why would I want to take a trip back to the Dark Ages? QCD forever! :evolved:

used WinAmp 2.x over years, found QCD, switched to QCD
had some problems with QCD, switched back to WinAmp for a short time
Problems with QCD solved, changed to QCD a second time, and now i'm realy happy with it
and will never change back

and of course NOT to WinAmp5 !!!
