Playlist Refresh?

Is it possible to have playlists refresh when loaded?
For example if songs have been added to a directory.

I am sure I will feel like a moron when someone tells me the simple answer to this....

When you load a playlist, any non-existing files will appear in the playlist as blocked (they look black in the default skin). You can remove these tracks by clicking 'Delete->Remove Blocked'.

To resave the trimmed playlist, click 'Save->Save changes to...'

Do the files become active again if I replace the files?
(connect to the network share again, reinsert the CD, ..)

If locations are being scanned for changes is it also possible to act on any additions? New files could be added to the playlist highlighted in red or green? Is a feature request / plugin required here?
