I've just been given a new 19 inch flat panel monitor at work, which I've set at 1152x864. Great picture. However, I am left with a 3 inch horizontal space at the bottom. Does anyone have some nice wallpaper that will just fill in the 3 inch strip and fade up to black? Any pictures would be appreciated.

You could use larger pictures and crop the rest out :carrot:

Yeah, I could, but I would like it to start at the bottom in shades of black and grey, and fade to black going up into a black empty desktop. And I don't have anything like photoshop to use here at the office. Thanks for the response, anyway.

That's it? Why not 1280*1024? That should be like the standard setting :puzzled: As for the wallpaper, im not sure what you like. Abstract? Nature? People? There is sooo much out there, just type for the heck of it "wallpaper" in the google picture search engine ;)

If you can find a decent sized picture for that screen I can do the job for you. I guess if you would like to check for a picture of that size, check a wallpaper site. I use this one a lot:

I made a few myself but in due time had to remove them due to lack of attachment space.

Now that you ask, Use her name, ive put them in my photobucket; here are the links:

Qcd radioactive (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v405/RMI/quinnware/radioactiveQCD1.jpg)

Thanks for all the answers guys and gals. My situation is that I really like quite a number of the wallpaper suggestions, and I suppose I could cut the portion I want out of the picture, but anything I cut out and re-save will only be re-centered in the new picture. I need some way to reposition the cut portion at the bottom 3 inches of my monitor. Aside from that little problem, all the suggestions and sites were great. When I figure out how to accomplish the repositioning, I will choose one (or two, or three) and show the results with a screen capture.

My suggestion to you is to download a trial version of 30 days of Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9 here (http://www.jasc.com/products/?) . Or you can try Adobe photoshop 8 CS. Anyhow, these programmes will make you life a lot easier than using Ms paint :)

HA!! Funny you should mention that. I DO have paint shop pro 4 here at work. I didn't think I could accomplish anything with this program, but I guess I'll have to give it a try.

OK, I think I might have a solution for the screen problem. It's unusual, but check it out.:silly:

Well, if I ever figure out how to use PhotoShop, I will. Until then, the QCD player will have to fill up the empty space.

The "time left until I retire" thingy rocks !!! :ditsy:

Again, you only have to find a nice wallpaper and I'll do the resizing for you mate.

OK, let's try this one. If you can stretch it accross a 19 inch screen's bottom and have it 3 inches tall fading to black at the top, that would be just fine.

1152X864. (I know it's wierd, but it gives the best readability for the area.)
