Please, please, please! Can anyone help me? Something changed my home page and I have spent 3 hours trying to change it back to what I had it set on and can not change it. I always use RefDesk .com and something changed it to Yahoo.com last night. I have tried the usual way of going to tools/options where it says to change the home page but when I place my curser on it, it does not do anything. It is not even lit up. I tried dragging the icon in the address bar to the little house and that won,t work either. I also tried restoring to an earlier date 2 different times and that didn't work. Can anyone please help? Thanks a lot!
I ran a virus scan and spybot s&d and found nothing.
I use IE on WinXP home edition.
Try this:
1. Start > Run...
type gpedit.msc
3. then select:
User configuration > Windows settings > Internet Explorer Maintenance > URLs > Important URLs > Customize Homepage URL
4. type desired adress and OK it.
Hope this will help...
Had the same problem once. It was yahoo.com as well. Don't remember how I got fixed, though.

Thanks, Heigar - This was a great help! I have searched all day trying to find the answer. I finally found out I could use Spybot S&D/tools/brouser to change the settings back to my original but the normal place to change homepages is still not active to where I could use it to change to something else if I wanted too. I am going to try the lock/unlock tool from the above web site. Thanks again!
