Okay here's the deal; im working on a skin map right now and i just saw that i can include embedded video in my skin. Has anyone tried this yet cus it does sound like a nice idea. Only thing is that i want to replace the same area with visualisations when there is no video but audio playing. Can this be done? I checked the skinning manual and the forum but couldnt find a solution.


For the rest, things are looking good. Skinning is really easy as long as ya dont screw up black 0,0,0 with black 17,17,17 if ya know what i mean :grimreape :cheeky:

I'll probably have more questions when i get to the resizing playlist part cus that does sound tricky, but it wont be in a while, still gotta make textures which is gonna be the hard part :P

You have to setup overlapping extenstions. This always went right over my head, and the last time i even looked at a skin map was quite a few months ago, so you'd better wait for fatal error :cheerful:

The position of the Extension is defined by its position in the Map bitmap. For example, if the upper left corner of the Extension is at location 100,100 in its Map bitmap, it will appear at location 100,100 in the player. Thus it is typical to have some unused space to the left and above the Extension, as this space is just there to provide the proper offset to the Extension. The Body image bitmaps, which correspond to each of the Map bitmaps, must be the exact size and shape of its corresponding Map. However, the position of the Body image must always start at 0,0 in the bitmap. This makes positioning the Body image simple and cuts down on unused ‘whitespace’ which makes the skin more efficient. Defining overlapping Extensions is now as simple as positioning two or more Extensions on their Maps to occupy similar space on the resultant skin. The player will automatically handle the drawing logic for this situation.

This is what i found about overlapping extensions and that i need separate bitmaps for each overlapping extension. I can live with that. :) I'll try it out when the time comes when im ready with the textures. I guess it's not that complicated. Thanks Hedge for the hint!
