I'll Hold You In My Heart 'til I Can Hold You In My Arms - Elvis Presley. For my money Elvis' best vocal, ever. He was at his peak in '69 and let it all out in a minimalist blues song.
What's the Matter Here - 10000 Maniacs. 16 years later and it still packs an emotional whallop. Released about the same time as "Luka" it is by far the superior song.
Knowing Me, Knowing You - ABBA. Supurb vocal harmonies and complex instrumentals combine to create the quintessential pop song. Should be bundled with every QCD download.
I've Got You Under My Skin - Frank Sinatra. As many times as I've heard this song I'm still surprised by Sinatra's phrasing and timing, both creating a sweet tension finally released by his band. I feel like I should have a smoke after hearing it.
Canon in D Major - Pachelbel. A two bar ostinato by the bass leads to 28 variations by the violins. It all adds up to arguably the most beautiful and meditative work in classical music.

Hmm, only five?
Well, my music listening goes through "band" stages so most of my stuff would be the same if I pick current ones!
Anyway, here's some good stuff
Zebrahead : Hello Tomorrow
Zebrahead : Playmate of the Year
Mitch Benn : The Apathy Song
[Spunge] : Break Up
Millencolin : Fox

After a little thinking this is what I came up with:
1: Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven
2: Metallica - Master of Puppets
3: Chris Cornell - Moonchild
4: Kashmir - Lampshade
5: Kashmir - Travelogue
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven have "always" been my favorite number, so that one was easy to pick.
