There are no ads, unless the station wants to play ads... it's much like Shoutcast. Oh and you are correct, as of today it can't be played back with QCD, but it could be done.

How about cable television for qcd now that it has an integrated video player already? I believe winamp already supports it... :ponder:

.nsv extensions should definitely be supported by QCD. Someone make it happen, please?

Am I the only one that's never gotten Winamp's TV to work? I mean here is all the free porn my little eyeballs can handle and I get no video whatsoever. Lotsa moaning; sounds like people are enjoying each other but no video!

Maybe decent people aren't allowed to watch it at a resolution of 100*100, policy of winamp, ha ha ha :silly:

Is Nullsoft Video a new codec or is it just an existing codec with a different file extension?
Is Nullsoft Video a new codec or is it just an existing codec with a different file extension?
It is a container format... so the video/audio codecs can be a number of different combinations. I think the most common are VP3/MP3 and VP3/AAC. Google NSV if you need more info... it is all available (but there is a licensing fee to actually implement the VP3/4/* video decoders). http://www.quinnware.com/forum/images/emots/post/disappointed.gif

but there is a licensing fee to actually implement the VP3/4/* video decodersOn the vp3.com site it says it is free? (The worlds best free license video codec) And it is opensource, managed by Xiph.org Foundation now. (http://www.theora.org/theorafaq.html)
If anyone is interested here is the nsv specifications:
http://www.scvi.net/nsvformat.htm
Wouldn't it somehow be posible to "extract" the audio and video from the nsv and let the video plug-in take care of the rest?
On the vp3.com site it says it is free?
I think the only one that is open source is VP3 though. The other codecs (VP6 in particular) is only free for "personal use".
See the licensing terms at the bottom of this page:

I agree with you Tokelil, the logical way to put NSV support into QCD would be via the Video plugin. I know Paul is busy, but maybe Ben Ceschi has time to do this http://www.quinnware.com/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif

Good point. I'm not sure about that one... couldn't find anything on the site that says for sure. http://www.quinnware.com/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif
