View Full Version : Why is this media player so darn good?

I've been using Winamp since it was the only program available for MP3 files... recent versions have started to act odd and crash, and my foreign MP3 files have had more Js and Xs and }s in their titles*, but it was still Winamp so I was OK.
All that ended when I popped in Apollo 18 by They Might Be Giants. Winamp started playing it, but some of the tracks are 10 seconds long and Winamp chopped off the last 2 seconds, making it sound nasty. WMP, Foobar, Shareaza, Freeamp all did the same thing. Auuugh!
So I remembered QCD, installed it, and suddenly the CD was playing as if it was in my actual CD player. It also never crashes, and it has 100% support for foreign character sets! This is incredible! Miracle of miracles!
So what I want to know is, why is this media player so darn good?
* Pardon the Douglas Adams reference.

In some cultures Paul is considered a god :p ...hes just an awesome programmer, and hes always looking at complaints, bug reports and helps you personally.

I can't explain why the player is so amazing. Let's just marvel at its beauty and not think too deeply.

Ha. I like the plover-ism.
Why does everybody pick on me? I'm a smart kid! :( I'll bet it's because I'm "Don."

I'm sorry youngtwig..:D
but "don" means underwear in my language. The upper-shirt part is called similarly "atlet" , and what we wear underneath is don..but not "the Don", in fact we've got plenty of them,in many colors and patterns..slips,shorts or cowboy style ; whatever makes you happy..;)
