What is the reason for the restraints in Windows Explorer / \ : * ? " < > |? I mean, AC DC or AC_DC...just do not look right.
Those chracters have some special use in windows.
/ is used between folders, : after drive and so on.

/ is the linux folder separator. \ is the Windows folder separator. * can be used as a qualifier (ie. del *.*). : is used in Windows for after a drive letter. " is used to specify that the filename will have a space in it and thus should take the filename until the end quote(ie. del "C:\Program Files\blah"). I'm sure the rest are something similar.

You're not going to believe this man. I've just started to put my entire CD collection on to my HD. I started at about 18:00 with 'A' and I got to AC-DC about an hour ago. Far out. I'd never thought about this before. You're presience is astounding!
For the record, I decided on 'AC-DC'.
Sometimes really weird shit happens. I guess it's Karma man.

That format looks good, I guess AC/DC is just a popular band :calm:

If AC/DC formed today I wonder if they would go with AC-DC. I blame all this malarky on Bill Gates, only because I can't blame George Bush for it.

Either they're a popular band or it's a popular way of life :carrot: :carrot:

Blame it on unix. Windows doesn't have a use for the / except to support unix.

BTW. Brian Johnson was good, but he's a pale shadow of Bon Scott. What does anybody think?

My question is how many people know that AC/DC even had two lead singers?
Brian Johnson was soooo lucky that his first AC/DC album was Back in Black. If they'd put out a mediocre effort the answer to Rory's question would be easier. I personally can't say one's better than the other.
BTW, Brian Johnson ain't a half-bad race car driver. I saw him recently at Watkins Glen, placed second in his class.

Funny you should say that, Back in Black is the most recent AC-DC I've got.
Highway to Hell, now there's an album.
Having said that, one of my favourite tracks was "TNT". However the Brian Johnson version (released as a B-side to something off Back in Black, I think. And done live) was breathtaking. Far superior.
For the record, the same could be said about Iron Maiden. Paul Di'Anno had balls! In fact ditto Deep Purple. While we're at it.
Anyway, doesn't matter a damn about the forward slash thing. AC-DC would have used a lightning bolt! My keyboard doesn't go there.

I like these:
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
High Voltage
Highway To Hell
Back In Black
Who Made Who
Blow Up Your Video
The Razors Edge
Safe In New York City
Stiff Upper Lip
The actual tags are AC/DC, and since I am not really in Explorer when listening to music it is not much of a problem.

While on the topic, the RIAA (boo hiss) recently certified Back in Black double- diamond, reflecting 20 million copies sold. Add a further 20 million illegally downloaded and you've got yourself a hit record.
I think it's because the / is reserved for the HTML? You can type web addresses into the Windows Explorer Address Bar to load webpages.

I just saw an episode of The Simpsons. Lisa won a Spelling Bee, and all of the townspeople were having here spell different words. Otto, the bus driver, asked her to spell AC DC. She says, "A,C,D,C." He says, "No, you forgot the lightning bolt!"
