is there any way to show the "status bar" in MSN Explorer?
I don't quite get what you mean with 'status bar'. Could you specify a bit?

Firefox:http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
OR
Avant:http://avantbrowser.com
Firefox and Avant are similar feature wise, but Avant use IE to render web pages and Firefox uses the Gecko engine (Mozilla/Netscape also use this).

I like Firefox or you can try my favorite, Opera.

Another vote for Mozilla, although Mozilla, Firefox or Opera will all do you right.

I can wholeheartedly reccomend Firefox. I've been using it since it came out (and Firebird before that) with very few problems. The ability to open pages in Tabs is invaluable in my opinion. IE is pants in comparison. Give it a try. If you don't like it, there's no harm done. Opera's good too, but I find it a little too fussy for my taste. I think it has an overly busy interface. Still, try them both. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, as they say.
