When i'm playing a song (in this case mp3, i don't know if other file formats will do it.) i've recently noticed that when the song is coming to an end say there is less then about 7 seconds left, if i double click a file in explorer for QCD to play (i've got mine set to play file on load) it QCD will just immediatly stop playing and freezes and i have to close it. It did it in B81 & is doing in 4.51 (thats probably coz their the same!). I'm using the directsound crossfading plug-in (set to no-crossfading, and just fade on pause and seek and silence removal -90dB.) and the MAD mp3 plug-in. I've never noticed this behaviour before.

no-one else haveing this problem? must just be my poo computer!!
I hardly ever use explorer for that. But I would guess it has something to do with the crossfading playback plug-in, since it's only happening when the song is in the end. Have you tried if it happens with other playback plug-ins?

only seems to happen with the crossfader plug-in. I changed the doobrie so it fades out on stop now (didn't before) only 500ms and stopped it crashing.
Did you try it when not using the MAD plugin?

Just put everything back to the way it was in the post before and it works fine now. Oh well, like I say must just be my computer throwin' a wobbly.

I'm having a similar problem. With shuffle on, using crossfade directx output, about 6 seconds before the end of the song the slider stopped but I could see stuff going on in the visualization box and the equalizer display. If I slide the slider to the end, it stops and acts normally except I have a whole playlist that it's supposed to play randomly.
I went into output and input plugins and disabled use of internal equalization. That has seemed to fix it so far. Wish me luck... :) .

I had more problems. Playlist random play problems (see above). I switched to the straight directx output and so far it's going without problems.

This has turned out to be caused by files in the playlist having been deleted. So obviously they should not have been played. However, I think that this condition should be handled.
