I've been using the excellent Cover Art Visual Plugin (v1.19 at the moment) and when i run it, the CPU usage runs up to 76% when I run it. If I turn it off, the CPU usage goes to 0%.

I love using the plugin but don't love the CPU usage. Anyone got any suggestions.

What windows version? How are you using it(be specific with options being used and such)?

Hi,

I've got Windows 2000 running.

I'm running the QCDThree skin and the album cover appears in the visualisation window.

the plugin's calling the jpg image from a directory (as found in the .ini file).

Just seems that as soon i turn the plugin on, the CPU usage for QCD shoots up to around 76%. i haven't tried any other visualisations, as they don't interest me, but i might experiment (i assume this is a graphic-card load issue with visualisations in general - or something similar).

Did you try whether it did the same with other visuals or not?

First of all, that's a really old version of Cover Art Vis. Try downloading the newest version from the Visual Plugins page on this site. I've probably fixed the problem already. Since you're on Windows 2000, you'll need to download the gdiplus.dll file from the "support file" link as well and install it to your QCD application directory (not the plugin directory). Install the plugin to your plugin folder as usual. If you have il.dll, ilut.dll, ilu.dll installed (as you probably do since you have such an old version), you can safely delete them after updating the plugin.

Download it (and read the instructions) from here: http://www.quinnware.com/list_plugins.php?plugin=19
