Already reported by ace2701, but " the "do not use avatar" button can't be unchecked". :(

I sort of like it without avatars,; pages load much quicker without them.

That's not a bug. That's called "Avatars are disabled..."

They make it so much easier to see who's who though. And you can always turn them off... (I think) :confused:

I agree, but it's Paul & Matt's decision... And yes, you can turn of avatars/sigs when the forum is already going.

Avatars are enabled, but the upload form is not displaying. Don't know why yet.

goodie. it makes it so much easier to see who you're reading when there is a little picy.. names are just so old hat.

I just created a new account to test out this avatar thing... and it worked perfectly. I'm not sure what everyone else is seeing.

For one thing, when you click on the avatar page in the control panel, make sure you fill out the top form and use the first 'Submit Modifications' button. I noticed a lot of people are uploading a Profile Picture not an avatar.

regarding the first post in the forum...

you can uncheck the do not use an avatar button by clicking the Yes radio button beside 'Use Custom Avatar' text.

an addendum for my previous post... DONT HIT the enter button when you submit the form, actually click the FIRST 'submit modifications' button.

Hi Matt. Excellent job with this new site. Now to the dumb question... :confused: What form at the top of the page? I don't see any form to fill out. And where is the "customise avatar " button? I can't find that either.

in control panel... what are your options? perhaps take a screen and upload it here.

well folks... I tracked down the problem... it wasn't a bug.. just a well hidden option!!

you should all be able to upload avatars now.
