When I close QCD, the player doesn't stop. It doesn't stop playing the songs, the tray icons is still there... And when i don't use a tray icon, theres no way to stop te player!

I use Windows XP Pro Dutch, SB Audigy, AMD1800+,512DDR, ATI R9500PRO128Mb

This bug was also in QCD 4.10!

This is the only reason why I don't use QCD for the moment!

Have you tried using a different output plugin (like wave out, or directsound without cross-fading)? Or maybe you are buffering too much music. In fact when using the directsound output plugin with cross-fading, 7 seconds of music is buffered (and that is default). So when i close QCD, music keeps playing for another 7 seconds! Its not a bug. So you could try lowering the buffer (& so you know, winamp buffers 2 seconds).

I use the WaveOut plug-in, but It's the same problem with all the playback plug-ins. I always use the default settings, but the player always plays the song till the end.

Pardon me for asking the obvious, but do you have the latest drivers for your sound card/cd rom/directx?

Are you playing CDs or files? If files, which format?

You know, sometimes when I close QCD and then inmediatly I shut down the laptop I get the closing program window, and the after the timer ends, it doesn't even close QCD. I must click on "end now" and then click shut down again so it finishes shutting down.

Maybe is my laptop, but since was posted I thought this may help.

MP3
Latest DirectX
Not the latest Audigy drivers, but the new one gave strange sound. But that is 99% sure not the problem!

But i never had this problem with version 3.5 and 4.0 :-s

Are you using plugins other than default?

Yes, and I notice that the QueueIt icon stay's longer in the tray than the QCD icon when closing. I'll try and narrow down the problem.

I'm using the crossfader and mp3 input. Pietro's rock steady is unchecked.

Im not sure that is my fault since the icon is remove at once when disabling the plugin from the preferences menu. I guess QCD just removes it's own icon before calling the shutdown rutine of the general plugins.

I have the same problem. WindowsXP SP1 + all updates, latest drivers, QCD 4.11.

Simple DirectSound or WaveOut playing mp3s and vorbises.

So when i close QCD, music keeps playing for another 7 seconds! Its not a bug.

I'd say that's a bug. QCD should stop all streams and destroy its buffers when it quits. That's not the problem, though, because QCD doesn't quit ;) WaveOut's buffer is 10s and it's a zombie for as long as I want to leave it, SDS has a 512k buffer, and it's a zombie too. The tray icon still opens main menu, preferences and a few things, but it doesn't respond to exit menu item, edit track, quicktrack, playback commands, and doesn't update main window or allow player info to be closed. Currently playing track when quit plays until end, then dead air.

Yes, same bug here, Windows XP Pro french edition, very fresh installation (I installed everything yesterday so I assume my drivers and all work right).

This is the first QCD bug I experience, but this one is really a pain in the neck.
:-(

Are there any news concerning a fix of this?

Not yet, but a new QCD version is currently being developed. You could try installing the dev build 67 and see if that version has it fixed. Otherwise, just press stop when wanting to close QCD ;)

Actually QCD being playing music or not doesn't change anything : if it is playing the song is played until the end, if not it keeps on playing nothing (amazing uh???) but the process remains in memory...

Additional information :
I uninstalled and reinstalled QCD this morning and everything seems to work fine.

On my previous installation I used only 2 non-native plugins : Mpeg -plus input and MAD plugin.

I reinstalled a "fresh" version of mpeg-plus (on the previous installation I used one that was on my hd).
I haven't reinstalled the MAD plugin yet.

Everything runs fine so far, but on my first installation, everything worked fine and then it began to bug...

So let's keep some suspense, I'll keep you informed.

OK, this is what i've discovered :
this morning everything worked fine, and suddenly it did the bug again!!!

All I had done was enabling folder mirroring (with "load new only" option disabled)...

So I unchecked folder mirroring, cleared my playlist , closed QCD (bug again) and started it again... and it then worked perfectly.

So for my situation I'd say that the folder mirroring option is the cause here (in preferences / media loading).

Could you guys try this out and confirm that?

Thanks!

This is still a problem in B70... Paul?
