Just A Quick Warning

PHEW!! Just installed V4.11 OVER 4.10, and I will NEVER do that again :eek: First, when I tried ShoutCast, it popped up a "BAD XML" warning, and ShoutCast was dead! Then I got a "CDDB dll not installed .. reinstall QCD" warning, and NOTHING worked; not even my older copies of QCD! Removed it, and installed it twice, but still no joy :mad: And, to top it off, I no longer could log on to the forum site to ask what was wrong!! Finally, I rebooted my system (W98SE), downloaded a new copy of 4.11, installed it, moved all my plugins and skins back and PRESTO, all is fine once more :D This proves that from now on, I will ALWAYS do a clean install of QCD. No more shortcuts for me. :o

Installing a new version of QCD on top of an old one has never been a problem for me. Running Win XP.

I no longer could log on to the forum site to ask what was wrong!! Finally, I rebooted my system (W98SE),... and PRESTO, all is fine once more both of these things makes me suspicious that something else was wrong with your system other than QCD

yes, logging onto the internet isn't anything to do with qcd, so i guess it was your PC

Hi guys .. Yeah, I kinda think so too. The only thing I can figure is that uninstalling QCD somehow messed up my registry. Too many "Do you want to save this file? Do you want to save that file? And especially "Do you want to uninstall CDDB?" Even though CDDB was already listed as gone. Oh well; alls well that ends well, and I seem to be back in business (with BARD and it's mute button ;) ).
