i thought this was cool you can download a 'test virus' to see if your anti virus is working as it should . it's only text but your anti virus software should pick it up as a virus . helpful if you've just installed a new anti virus and are in the thinking that you may have cocked it up and just want to test it .

there's plenty of more complete security tests available if you care to test more. for antivirus, go try a few things from astalavista.com (um...be careful though. the first time it fails, you may be in serious trouble). for firewalls, there are a few firewall killing programs you can try on yourself as well as other free evaluations from places like sygate.com (all they do is portscan your computer)

I personally use Kaspersky (currently using 5, but the last full version was 4), zaps all known crap in existance =)

Covers trojans, and evil malware like porn dialers and stuff too.

i'm not big on pc-cillon.

i like antivir (free and german) available from free-av.com

works well and has a ton of updates.
