What sort of organization are you trying to achieve? Judging by comments made by others in these forums, most of us keep our media files in dedicated folders; in my own case, I have a drive partition strictly for music files, with subfolders for artist and album. That way, I can just tell QCD to Load Folder (from the playlist Add or + menu) and it will load all of my music files and keep me entertained for days on end.
As for your missing visuals, they probably need to be installed. Visuals, plugins and skins downloaded from the QCD website all include an installer. Find where you downloaded them, and double-click the file to launch the installer. The rest is automatic.

Hope that helps!
Welcome to the family!

Yop... organizing my Files in a similar Way

Partition for MP3's
-> Folder for : Genre
-> Sub-Folders for First Letter
-> Sub-Folders for Bandnames
-> Sub-Folder for Albumnames

or just have a look here : ---> Screenshot (http://home.pages.at/ashtaroth/MiscPics/MP3-Organization-swt.png)

While this is all well if you have done this from the start, it doesn't help much if you have 10000 mp3's in one folder and want to sort them. Surely there must be a tool to do it for you? (Btw. mine is sorted almost the same way)

If you want to use Sonique visuals, you will have to get the Sonique to QCD plug-in in the plug-in section here (visuals) and install it. Then go to your Quintessential folder and create a folder named VIS in it. Go to the Sonique web-site and download the visuals you want and install to the folder you just installed named VIS. Then open QCD and go to preference/plug-ins/visuals and click configue and point it to the folder you just created named VIS. Enjoy!

If the files are ID3 tagged, you can use Explorer or a tagging tool to sort them; then you can move them to folders according to name.

You didn't mentioned what kind of organisation of your music file you want. Another thing you also didn't mentioned about what you want to do with visuals. If you have downloaded the then either run the setup as told by traveller or just copy the zip or QSK file in your visuals folder.

as far as organising your media is concerned you may have follwing genral options figure out which works best for you.

1. Can organize as mentioned by -swt-
2. Option offered by Tokelil is also not bad.
3 Finally you can burn quite a lot of your favrt mp3s to CD-Rs ( FYI a single CD-R can stack upto 150 or more MP3's ) that saves a hell lot of space. and u only need to load the disc from ADD or + menu.

CD-R Storage media is more cheaper then your HDD and works fine with every system.

another advantage is you can carry your mp3's with you if u have a Disc man and like to travel as well.

If you don't want to burn CD-Rs according to some organization then just burn them choosing random MP3's and when you are done load each disk and create custom playlist from the contents. That way you even don't need to take care of chosing files to burn on CD-R's :grin:

By the way I have organized my music that way.

Again about Visual Plugins Just install them and you QCD will do what you want it to.
Hope it Helps.
