CLI Encoder Parameters

I am setting up my CLI Encoder parameters for LAME --alt-preset insane.
The arguments that I normally use with Audiograbber are:

%s %d --alt-preset insane

I noticed that it says in the CLI Encoder that you only use %s with encoders that don't support pipes. Well, I cannot get the encoder to work without %s.

Also. The other paramaters like %title% and %artist% %album%
Are they supposed to put that info into the tag because I cannot get the encoder to work with any of those parameters.

So can someone please explain this and tell me whether my parameters are OK?
The only tag info that I get is the song title, but adding the extra parameters stops the encoder from working.

One last thing. The --alt-preset standard that is already built into the CLI Encoder does not work.

I have the same problem with the CLI encoder not functioning. Currently using Lame 3.96 and parameter as "--alt-preset cbr 128 - %d" but the error messages "can't write to destination" and "opening encoding plugin fails" will pop up.

As a side note, when I was using the default QCD encoder, I noticed that there are some clicks in the created mp3 files. Has this anything to do with the encoder or disk writer plugin?
