Are you referring to the Ozone DSP issue? Because I've been searching for that thread, but misplaced it or sumf'in.

This player consistently gives me warm fiuzzies. That's NOT an easy thing to do. You do a superlative job and I'm very grateful (listening to "O Fortuna" with it as I type this).

Yep, that was me :) I very happy you fixed it for me :) Although, on an unrelated note, the new alpha plugin corrupts my entire screen and nothing displays properly until a reboot :(

Edit: I spoke too soon :( Ozone now recognizes and lists the songs, but doesn't change to the assigned preset when the song plays.

Did you post your thread about ozone in this forum or the old one? I can't find it in either and it's itching me.

Also, is there a way I can test the assign feature in ozone with the free dsp plugin?

The trial is supposed to be fully functional, so yes, I'm assuming so. The post was in the old forum, in the plugins section I think.

Whenever I try to select a track in ozone to assign to a preset it gives me the red box saying "you can only select presets marked 'ozone free'. Please upgrade..." yada yada, and wont let me assign tracks to presets.

Are you using the ozone plugin from the winamp website, or the trial one from the ozone website? Is there a difference?

No, no difference, but I'm using the full version of a very slightly older version. At the top of the presets list, there are presets labelled "Ozone Free". If you use those, it should work. I'm assuming the problem is that it can now read the playlist, but doesn't know what song is playing? Or doesn't know when the song changes?

I wont let me assign any presets, "ozone free" or not. Until it lets me do that, I can't test anything else.

You could download a "free" "evaluation version" and delete it when you're done. I know, I know, not a good solution. I don't understand why it won't let you assign presets... You click the preset on the left and then select the songs?

BTW, which version did you use? Off of Winamp site or off of izotope.com? I think the one on Winamp.com may be a bit older, now that I think about it.

EDIT: Quote from the site: "You can download fully functional 14 day trial versions of Ozone for Windows Media Player 9, Winamp 2 and Winamp 3 below."

Thank you for looking into this so thoroughly, Paul. I really appreciate it. Fixing these issues will make me one very happy QCD Kid.

The trial version is "fully function" except for the upgrade-only features, of which assigning presets to tracks is one.

I too want to support these DSP plug-ins fully, so I'm trying to fix this issue, but it's hard to without being able to test.

:( That sucks... There isn't much to do. Unless there's anything I can do?

Short of cracking/buying/lending you my serial :p lol
That's kind of misleading.... Fully functional... Not.

iZotope Ozone for Winamp/QCD is a remastering/remodeling DSP. Then there is a DirectX version made for mastering. Go to http://www.izotope.com for more info on iZotope plugins.

Paul since it's for testing purposes why not asking them for a key (or temp key?)

or

you could alway go to www(dot)astalavista(dot)box(dot)sk and get a key for the program... there are plenty available.
