I have two quick questions regarding XCopy amd MP3Gain. Does XCopy do a track analysis or an album analysis? Are the changes that take place still effective if XCopy is turned off at the plugin preferences window?
For those that don't know, MP3Gain is a little application that adjusts the volume of mp3 files losslessly, based on a mathematical formula that determines how loud the file sounds to the human ear. In a track analysis all the files are adjusted to a preset goal (89.0 dB). All files end up sounding equally loud. In an album analysis the relative volumes of different tracks are taken in account and maintained while the album over all is adjusted to reach a goal.
This is very useful if you (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) get your files from multiple sources (say no more, say no more).
By the way the MP3Gain download link at XCopys page is outdated. The current address is http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/
