Un-skin, Please!

I’m relatively new to digital audio on a home PC but I’ve been using it in radio stations for 15 years. I have tried most every free player out there and QCD has most of the features I need. Having worked with some very cool pro software, I can tell you that QCD is right up there with the best when it comes to audio quality and stability .

I’m using the Office XP skin right now but I’d love it if someone would put together an un-skin for QCD that would more closely match the ergonomics of pro audio players. I’m not a programmer so I don’t have a clue how to skin anything but, maybe, a cat. So…

Here’s a general idea of what I want. If anyone wants to take a crack at it I would be much obliged.

1. Full Screen or at least as big as the Office XP skin
2. Great big buttons for all the features like you see on applications designed for touch screens.
3. Big play list with large high contrast fonts that are easy to read.
4. Big display showing Title And Artist with enough space to show long titles.
5. Visualizations are a waste of space and CPU time.
6. I don’t need the EQ to be up all the time because I rarely use it.
7. Prominent display of the status bar and the box which shows file data.

I don’t know if it’s possible but it would also be nice if you could run QCD in a resizable window. I’m not sure whether that’s possible in a skinned application. It would Be nice, though! A nice small mode would be cool, too

I like a lot of your ideas for the big, easy-read skin. I'll be sure to try it out if it gets developed. With regards to your comments about visuals being a waste... there are a variety of level meters which you may find enjoyable or useful. I'm a sucker for the VU's myself! I've probably provided no help at all. So as long as yer not pissed off, I'll call it a success!!! :cheeky:

Although XRadioGod probably wouldn't like Phazyme because he doesn't like visualizations. I'm not a huge vis fan either. Imagine if that big space in Phazyme acted as a video-playing window? That would be the greatest.
