When saving the current EQ the two new tabs are added each time. (Look at pic)

And a question on EQ. Is there an easy way to lower all EQ bands at once by the same amount? Im getting some destortion in some songs, so want to remove that without changing the sound, which isn't easy if I have to do it manually for each band.

Have you tried just lowering the pre-amp level? That should have the same effect as lowering all EQ bands.

Isn't that option only available in the mp3 input plug-in? (Half of my music is .org)

The EQ seems to work fine for Oggs on my system. I am using the main EQ rather than the Ogg plugin pre-amp. It basically acts as another volume control, but that's the same effect you would get from lowering the EQ bands. The Ogg plugin does have a clipping limiter, which seems to be its own pre-amp.

I am using the main EQ rather than the Ogg plugin pre-amp.When saying main EQ volume I guess you mean mixer volume? (Which is actually master volume) Or you mean Player volume? Non of those does preamp as I understand it.

(And by the way, it is .org that has an option for preamp, not mp3 as I said. But still only one of them is supported, and I need something general... At least for mp3 and org.)

The picture shows which equalizer and pre-amp I mean. All a pre-amp does is change the volume. An equalizer is just a specialized volume control that works on a specific frequency range rather than globally. What sort of distortion are you getting? Clipping is usually caused by the recorder or player input being set too high for the signal. The Ogg clipping limiter should help soften the effect, even if it can't remove it entirely. The effectiveness will depend on whether the clipping is part of the recording or a playback issue.

Fixed the tab ui bug. Thanks for the report.

There is no legitimate pre-amp in qcd yet. Perhaps it's time now that there is universal eq ability. If not pre-amp, then at least something to move everything up/down together.
