Just installed the MP4 Plug-in 2.1 beta, but when I try to add songs from iTunes to my playlist, QCD crashes and burns.
Using QCD 4.11
I'd even use another program to convert the iTunes files to .ogg or .mp3 if anyone knows of such a converter.
Any suggestions?

heh...i made it an .ogg file. QCD is now appeased!
(but a working .mp4 plugin would be cool)

Maybe you'd like dBPowerAMP Music Converter.
A powerful and overall music converter.
If you want to convert aac to ogg, don't forget to get the mp4 decoder and the ogg codec. (In the codec central.)

I thought of that first, so I went to the dbPowerAMP site and saw where they said iTunes has incompatibility problems with mp4. I downloaded it anyway but it didn't work.

Instead I opened up Audacity, (http://audacity.sourceforge.net) a wicked cool sound editing program, started my iTunes song playing, and hit record in Audacity and saved it as .ogg.
It may have been a little bit more work, but it sounds good to me.

Well this is wierd, here is what I see when I hover over songs that I ripped from my cd's:

And this is what I get when I hover over my iTunes songs:

It's like dbPowerAmp can't even see it's an audio file.
What's with that 'Protected' thing, and if that's the problem, how can I get rid of it?

It's a DRMed aac... (Did you buy it from apple?)
I'm not familiar with DRM...
Maybe re-record is the easiest way to get rid of DRM... (also for DRMed wma)

Can't you get rid of the drm thing by burning the file to CD as an audio track and then ripping it?

I also think that every time you re-rip or convert a music file there's a degredation in audio quality so it'd be best to get the plugin working with QCD.

If you have a file that makes QCD crash, can you send it to me so I can test?
