Hi,
I have subscribed to www.DI.fm for 160kbs streams. however, it wont work in QCD, only winamp, it just fails to connect. This is the stream url: http://user: password@IPaddress:8000 etc. why does it work in winamp and not QCD? Can u check it for us soon please.

I believe the problem is QCD not parsing the login properly. I'll look into this.

That is correct, I guess QCD is not supported (try telling them, maybe they can add basic authentication support)

My apologies for forum necromancy, but i just wanted to mention that at 20:00 o'clock GMT+01 time*, anyone interested in familiarising with Trance, should tune in the trance channel @ di.fm . The reason being is that there will be a new episode of "A state of Trance" with Armin van Buuren. He's a very popular DJ here in the Netherlands and probably around the world too. I prefer him after DJ Tiesto, who is, as we all know, number 1 DJ in the world :biggrin:

Actually I would like to thank you for resurrecting this thread. Prior to this I had always assumed that I couldn't listen to streaming net radio, but that show sounded so good I had to try. I never could get good streams before. I like Armin Van Buren too. I found that I can listen! But only with Windows Media Player, at least that is what the stream level I could receive opened. But it is worth it, I love thi Trance channel. So, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

The should be no problems listening to di.fm with QMP|CD. If there is, let me know.

at least i have no problems using the public channels. not subscribed though, so i don't know about the authentication stuff. and at least QCD isn't able to play the AAC stream (there was a different thread about that).

And if I'm not mistaken, that was just a matter of QCD's MP4 plugin not being able to handle streaming. Hey Paul, how's work on moving streaming functionality into the core coming? :)

Not me, I'm sticking with the regular Trance channel. I have a lot of classical, but I'm still trying to build my Trance/Techno library. That means that this is a great way for me to become exposed to new music, and I LOVE it so far!

Currently listening to: PPK vs. Valery Siver - Love Unlimited (melodic trance mix). Awesome music!

BTW Paul, I don't know if it's the new dev build or something I didn't do right before, but I can now stream DI.FM. I couldn't with dev100. What's more QMP is doing a better job of it than WMP was. Fewer stutters and less line hogging than WMP. Makes me wonder why WMP was using so much more when I had it's "extra" crap turned off. Great job Paul, you rock!
