I have QuickTrack configured to show a popup menu for each artist, with three menu columns of 25 rows each. But suppose I want to select a track by the Zombies? Given that I have a large playlist (1,500 tracks), it looks as though I have to navigate through dozens of menu columns to get to `Z'. Have I missed something? It would be good if there could be an intervening tier of menu structure by letter of the alphabet: `A', `B' and so on.

I have detailed the setup I use for QuickTrack in another thread.

Orange - thanks for responding, but I can't see how this helps with the issue I outlined. As far as I can tell, the only difference between our settings is that you have five menu columns to my three, and 40 rows per column to my 25. A 5x40 array blots out the whole of my 17-inch screen at 1024x768, and even then only gets as far as `F' in the list of artists!

In QuickTrack settings, select 'Sort By: Artist / Album / Track#' and uncheck 'Separate popup for each: Artist' and 'Album'.

Paul - ah, that's much better, thanks very much. The only slight drawback now is that where I have many artists with the same first letter or first two letters of the alphabet, sometimes the tracks by a particular artist get spread over more than one second-tier menu column. For example, the `Ch' artists spread over four 25-row columns - Charles, Charlie, Chas, etc. - and within that at least one of the artists spreads over two columns. Only a minor inconvenience, but it's nice to see all the tracks by a particular artist at one go. I guess what I'm hinting at is that it would be good to be able to combine the advantages of the two display methods.
