What's up with our emoticons?

I have noticed lately that some of the emoticons are not displaying properly in message bodies. Ponder and Paranoid both show up as the standard smilie plus 'onder' or 'aranoid' beside it. I think there are others, too, but I can't remember which ones. I've checked with Firefox and IE and got identical results. :ponder: :paranoid:
