Does anyone know of a way I can do a bulk retagging of my mp3's? What I want to do is get all the tags to match the filenames. Most of the tracks I've ripped myself are OK, but dl'ed tracks don't always match the filename (or the artist, for that matter). I know that I can edit tags 1-at-a-time with QCD  , but I don't see a way to run a lot of file through in a batch. any ideas? Thanks
You don't know that QCD's tagger is a batch tagger? I wonder how many others don't know this.
On the tag editor, click 'multi edit', then click 'add playlist' to load all the tracks from the playlist into the editor. Select the tracks you want to edit. Only the fields you change will be altered on the selected files.

Thanks, Paul. I guess I just didn't dig deep enough. This is a terrific program, with enough features to keep me busy for quite a while. Kudos to you, Matt and all the talented people who have contributed ideas and plugins. :evolved:

and if you want to use an external programm :
Mp3Tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html)
or
ID3-Tagit (http://www.id3-tagit.de/)
two very similar tools to change the ID3-Tags of your Files !

I use mp3Tag and find it excellent - it can tag or re-tag my collection of 1,600 music files from the filenames in a couple of minutes.

Thanks for the ideas, folks. You can bet I'll be playing around with this for awhile! :coffee:
